FAQ
What is the maximum load for Wolff e-bikes?
The maximum load for all Wolff e-bikes, including the Tucana tricycle, is 250 lbs.
How far can an e-bike go?
The range of an e-bike varies depending on several conditions, including battery size, rider’s weight, average speed, assistance level, terrain, wind, tire pressure, and outside temperature. Low tire pressure, hilly terrain, heavy loads, and headwinds can all reduce the battery life and limit the range.
How can you optimize e-bike autonomy?
To increase e-bike range:
- Keep tires pumped.
- Use eco mode when at the desired speed.
- Use high assistance only when needed.
- Use proper gears for your speed and terrain.
How long does it take to charge the battery?
Wolff e-bike batteries take up to 4.5 hours to charge from low. Batteries are easily removable for convenient charging at home or office.
What if my battery turns off or dies? / Can I use it as a regular bike?
Yes, if the battery dies or assistance is turned off, you can pedal and ride the e-bike like a regular bicycle.
What care/maintenance does the battery need?
- Batteries last for over 600 charges, even with regular cycling.
- Follow the manual for attachment and removal instructions.
- Store batteries at 30-60% charge for extended periods, and keep them indoors during cold weather.
How much does an e-bike weigh?
E-bikes, with motors and batteries, weigh about 55-60 pounds, compared to traditional bikes, which weigh 30-35 pounds. Lighter components generally compromise power and range.
How to maintain your e-bike?
- Pump your tires: Keep tires inflated to reduce friction and prevent flats.
- Keep your chain clean and lubed: Regularly clean and lubricate the chain to prevent gear wear.
- Avoid going over curbs: Avoid curbs to protect motor and rims; lift from the seat on bumpy roads.
- Clean your bike: Clean your bike with a damp cloth to avoid damage; avoid using pressurized water.
Can I bring it to a regular bike shop for a tune-up?
E-bikes have complex electrical components. Ensure the bike shop is experienced with e-bikes, especially your brand. Annual check-ups and tune-ups are recommended, especially if you ride frequently.
How to transport your e-bike?
The easiest way is on a car rack that can support e-bike weight. Remove the battery to reduce weight. Alternatively, fold back seats or remove the front wheel to fit the bike in the car, keeping it free from other objects to avoid damage.
